You all probably did not know that the 22nd February of every year is National Margarita day, well I too didn’t know this until this morning when an email came through relaying this bit of news to yours truly. Now you can imagine my excitement at this perfect excuse to indulge myself in one of favourite pass times and drinks (not that I need one) it is even better that this year it falls on the weekend so we can all be merry and consume as many Margaritas without the lingering thought of  going to work the next morning. Nothing beats a Margarita that just like anything else that is edible comes well made and prepared using the best ingredients. If you are looking to fix yourself one this weekend I have just the recipe for you to make the classic Tommy’s Margarita using Herradura Plata tequila a smooth, clean tequila made with 100% blue agave and no sugar or other additives aged for 45 days in new white American Oak barrels to bring out the agave flavour and add a touch of oak to its tangy citrus. The recipe is easy but has tasty results. Pour 50ml Herradura Plata, 25ml Fresh Lime Juice and 25ml Herradura Agave Syrup into a tumbler and stir, add abit of ice and continue stirring. Easy to make and Easy to drink should be the motto of this weekend. Happy weekend and enjoy Margarita day. Let me know how you get on with your own homemade Tommy’s Margarita
