For Summer 2016, I have had to severely narrow down my closet and work with a few wardrobe pieces throughout the whole season. Long gone are the days when I used to hoard clothes just because I felt the need to fill every last bit of space in my closet. Now I carefully select a few pieces from some of my favourite designer and highstreet brands each season such as Banana Republic, Topman, Nico Didonna, Unconditional, ASOS, Maison Margiela, Westwood, New and Lingwood, Kurt Geiger, Simon Carter and ofcourse Nadia Minkoff without necessarily compromising my signature style.
For someone who always prides themselves in always looking different and never repeating the same outfit twice, this was hard in the beginning but I quickly learnt that the trick is layering and tweaking pieces with various accessories to make them look different….it also does help that I do not divert very far from dark colours of black and blue. Accessories also do help out alot when you are trying to downsize your wardrobe so where you save on clothes, invest in shoes, belts, bags, necklaces, watches and the odd brooch.
A photographer friend of mine VJOJ who has known me for years was not convinced when I told him of how small my closet was that he tasked me to chose five different looks that he would photograph under one hour….the pressure!
In this post I would like to share with you the looks I chose.
