London Collections Men also popularly known as LCM organised by the British Fashion council is quickly becoming a force to reckon with on the international fashion scene competing with international men fashion weeks such as Milan and Paris.
LCM has set the menswear fashion bar so high for the past seasons and seen many of mega fashion brands relocate their catwalk shows and presentations from other International men fashion weeks to LCM.
LCM Spring/Summer 2017 brought high fashion, top models and international media houses to the capital and just like the seasons gone by, London delivered!
Here are my top looks from various collections presented during LCM SS17
LOU DALTON X JAEGER SS17
The second collaboration between fashion house Jaeger and designer Lou Dalton consisted of textured outer wear essentials , base layers of cotton tees and merino knitwear, chino trousers and utilitarian shorts.
Turnbull & Asser SS17
Playing on the idea of resort wear, this season’s Informalist is a spin-off from the classic Oxford shirt using irregular bold stripes while beach shirts with a lazy pyjama style collar play into the insouciance of summer. The Garment 57 silhouette returns in printed paisley silks and abstract indigo cottons, which pair with coordinating swim shorts or drawstring ‘yacht’ trousers for the ultimate in elegant relaxation.
Christopher Kane SS17
The collection embraces the hard and soft, pretty and perverse, order and disorder of a British masculine identity through clothing. At once playing with contrasting silhouettes and connotations, while celebrating everyday streetwear and the supreme skill needed in making technical, utilitarian clothing of the highest order.
Trust Coach’s creative designer Stuart Vevers to deliver a stunning biker chic collection to relight the fire within! This is in my opinion the rebirth of Coach menswear!
J.W Anderson SS17
In my opinion, where J.W Anderson goes, the rest of the fashion world follows! He was told me that if he present a collection that everyone understands he wouldnt be happy. So do not worry yourself, if you cannot grasp the concept of his latest collection that was his intention…you will get it eventually though…just not right away!
Sarah Burton stepped away from the usual runway shows to present this stunningly fabulous and uber camp Alexander Mcqueen collection during LCM
Topman Design SS17
These are my favourite looks from the Topman Design SS17 collection however I can categorically inform you that I would buy the entire collection without even thinking twice! 10/10
KTZ Spring/Summer 2017 collection sent shivers down my spine reminding me of my partying days in clubs of a particular nature only that the collection boasts of panache, style and high fashion making me wish that i still had the energy to revisit my former lifestyle of excess and debauchery. Love!
What is Spring/Summer without micro shorts? E.Tautz has given all men around the world the license to show as much leg as they possibly can! A very contemporary but eye catching collection. I love!
Simon Carter SS17
Simon Carter SS17 collection presentation was held at the Union club and the burst of colour and prints that have always been synonymous with the brand were very visible whilst maintaining a fresh new clean cut and tailored look. Love Love Love!
We were transported to the South of France by the Velsvoir boys during LCM. Serving vibes of a high end cocktail bar in Monaco filled with gorgeous boys all dressed to impress!
Casely-Hayford was one of my favourite collections of the season. There was not a single look not to love but these five made me reach for my drool towel!
Agi & Sam SS17
Any designer that sends models down the runway with rubber gloves and still mange to make it look like they just stepped out of an ad campaign deserves a mention. Agi and Sam SS17 was strong and striking in equal measure.
If this list of my favourite looks does not convince you that London is truly the trend setter of men’s fashion internationally then you really need to check yourself!
Congratulations to the British Fashion Council on yet another successful LCM season
See you in six months
